Individuals interested in becoming health educators can complete a lifestyle educator (LE) program at Uchee Pines Institute to gain the essential knowledge needed to perform Christian-centered medical missionary work. The program covers anatomy and physiology, principles of healthy living, health evangelism, and many other valuable topics.
Students can opt to attend the LE program in person, but an extension program is available for those students who have work or family commitments. Those who pursue the 12-month extension program attend an on-site intensive session to complement the distance learning. Extension program students must have strong English speaking and writing skills, along with a high-speed Internet connection. Graduates of both the on-site and extension LE programs have gone on to become health educators in their communities.
